They have been around for centuries, first appearing in medieval times.
No one knows the exact date except for the vamps who have survived that long.
Vampires use to be nothing but monsters but today they are more civilized,
there are the vampires with souls and those without.
Vampires without Souls
Vampires without souls need to feed once a day to survive.
The soulless are subject to blood lust sometimes at the sight of human blood.
The sun and holy objects such as
crucifixes, holy water, and blessed objects can harm a soulless.
Vampires with souls
Vampires with souls however can move about in
the sunlight without fear of being burned alive,
and holy objects can not harm them.
Vampires with souls have more control of their blood lust
and don’t have to feed as often, feeding only once a week.

For a vampire to regain his soul he must seek out his/her clan leader or a leader of an Order, they must go through a series of tests to prove they deserve their soul, for the tests a witch, warlock or faerie must be present to assistant in the tests.
To kill a vampire one must stab him or her in the heart or behead them.
After death a vampire's body will began to rapidly age until they are nothing but bones.
For a human to become a vampire their blood must be mostly drained then drink the blood of the vampire, then as their body is making the transition they must be buried or kept in a cold place. It takes a day for the transition to occur.
