”Psht! Harlequin.” The girl stood fully, giving the young pup a smile as she turned around, wagging her tail and walking towards her. ”Stop pulling, hun.” She clicked her tongue behind her teeth twice, and continued walking, Harlequin following along beside her before a scent would catch the puppy's nose, and she's trot towards it. Tianna was patient enough with her, pausing and allowing her a second or two to sniff before tugging on the leash to continue going. The puppy had improved with her walking, but part of Tianna had a feeling it was because she was tired. It was about eleven fifteen at night. The only reason they were out walking, really, was because she'd noticed Harlequin pacing about the living room. Usually that meant she had to go, and if she didn't hurry up and get her outside, there'd be an accident on her hands that she'd rather not clean up. So, tucking the computer chair into the desk, she called the pup, grabbed a leash, and out they went.
She hadn't bothered to put on shoes, and was dodging bits of the pavement that sparkled back under the street lights. If there was something Tianna had learned over the years, it was that glass was a pain to get out of skin. It could be the smallest little fleck of glass, and guaranteed, it'd hurt like someone was digging a white-hot needle into your foot. She didn't like sitting on the couch, biting her finger as her dad got the tweezers and dug around for that little sand-like piece of glass. No siree.
Their walk was rather uneventful, and within moments, the two were heading back to the house. It was then that it hit the teenager, and she paused for a moment. Have you ever just been doing something, and then be hit suddenly by a craving? One of those cravings you can't shake off, and it just keeps running through your mind. Over and over and over again. Oh, Tianna was having one of those cravings, and her mouth watered at just the thought of it. She wasn't particularly hungry, but then again, popsicles weren't really all that filling, so it shouldn't be a problem. Excitedly calling Harlequin into the house, Tianna went to the computer, grabbed her seven dollars, and took up the leash once again, calling the excited dog back outside of the house.
It was a quick walk to the nearest convenience store. Five minutes at the most. She tied the puppy outside on the bike rake then hurried in before she could make much of a fuss. There were two sharp barks of protest, but then she was quiet. Probably too tired to make so much of a ruckus. Tianna grabbed a 'rocket' popsicle from the large freezer and quickly payed for it. It was opened by the time she got outside, and she disposed of the wrapper in the garbage. ”Come on, Harlequin, let's go to the park.” Her voice was high and chipper, almost sickeningly so. As though she were talking to a baby. Well, she was. Her baby. Harlequin wagged her tail in response, skipping along beside her, eyes on the popsicle as Tianna ran her tongue along its cold surface.
There was nothing better than a popsicle on a warm night. Lowering her arm, she offered some to the puppy. ”Lick it. No biting.” She only tried once to bite it, but then she began to lick it, tail wagging as they walked towards the park. Once there, they sat pleasantly on a hill, sharing the multicoloured popsicle.
”Give me kisses?” Wagging her tail, Harlequin leaned forward, licking the teen's chin, lips, and cheeks before returning back to the popsicle. Tianna laughed, causing the dog's tail to wag more.
”Harlequin! Your tongue's purple.” Silly dog.
((kinda a crappy start, but I figured since the park's usually full of people at all hours, might as well stick it here and see what happens xD.))
