Every day is a grain of sand
Full Name: Todd Austin Lumbridge Nickname(s): He has none, though he almost exclusively goes by “Doctor Lumbridge”, or “Lumbridge” Age: sixty-seven Birthday: October 19th, Species: Human |.:.| Hunter Sexuality: Heterosexual Scars: A few here and there. It's almost expected to be nicked by a claw, or bit in his line of work. Piercings: None. Tattoos: None. Occupation: Retired as a doctor five years ago. His occupation now includes assisting Hunters in his own little way. Face Claim: Alan Rickman
Pros: Doctor Lumbridge has a rather pleasant exterior. Despite often appearing tired and drained, he'll manage to put a smile in your direction, and is the kind of man who would offer you an ice cream or something of the sort, just for visiting him. Perhaps it's his love of children that draws him to be so caring and patient, or that his current line of work draws on many failures. Either way, Lumbridge has a knack for remaining calm and warm were most would storm away in a fury of frustration. -patient -calm -caring Cons: Stress and depression has taken a strong toll on Lumbridge. He and his wife of late had divorced before he was forty, and she died three years after the divorce from cancer.. He'd married a flighty little girl who had stolen his heart the moment he'd seen her. Little Josephine Lovelace had been an accountant, with an almost mousy appearance. Thin and fragile with crazy brown hair and deeply tanned skin, and dark brown eyes that just seemed to reach into one's soul and captivate it. He was seven years her senior, but he knew he just had to have her. They were married a year later, and within five years, they had a son, Johnathan. The boy had been born with heart problems, and ended up passing away before his fourteenth birthday. The marriage had been rocky and difficult after that, but just as Lumbridge thought they were going to pull through, Josephine asked for a divorce. They say if you love something so much, you should let it go. If it comes back, it was meant to be yours, and if it doesn't, it was never yours to begin with. Mostly due to his past, Lumbridge is a very brooding person, who will often lock himself away and work until he collapses from exhaustion. Being tired all the time does take a toll on a person, and while he is patient in some ways, Lumbridge can be very quick to anger in others. With people he can remain calm, however with his creations that is not so much the deal. When he feels that he's “hot on a trail” to a genetic break through, and something goes wrong, Lumbridge will spiral down into an abusive state in which he locks out others, and will often turn to alcohol. He is also very set in his ways, and beliefs. Lumbridge found out about supernaturals shortly after his wife's death. While never one for religion, Lumbridge was mortified to learn that the massacre had been due to a blasphemy. It wasn't natural for a creature to be able to sustain itself on blood, or to mould its body into a wolf three times their normal size, or to completely throw the laws of physics out the window and be able to morph into anything of any shape or size, granted that it was a living being. It disgusted him. Research lead him to a group of people called “Hunters”, people who strove to rid the world of the creatures that played the devil's cards and pretended to look like them, and then slaughter humanity. He joined them, using his vast knowledge of biology to aid them. There are things he disagrees on with the Hunters. The elixir, for one, he had steadfastly declined. Lumbridge was not about to stick the DNA of monsters into his skin. Locked away in his place in Nevada, Lumbridge has captured a large amount of the creatures that walk amongst humanity today. There he tests them, learning flaws and weaknesses, and passes on the rare information to the Hunters. They don't bother him in his lab, and he doesn't bother them, or let them in on his plans. -old-fashioned -strict -quick to anger -moody/brooding -blinded to some things -set in his mind and ways -secretive
Likes: -kids -fond memories/reminiscing -science and biology -making a break-through -succeeding -learning -studying Dislikes: -the unknown -supernaturals -pain. Especially of the emotional variety -alcohol -disease -being wrong
Parents: Lilian Wordsworth (deceased), Severn Lumbridge (deceased) Siblings: none. Pets: His creations. Other: Nadine Balakirev (42), his assistant, maid, and friend.
Bio: Well hello! Come in, come in. Can I offer you a drink of something chilled? It is an awful warm day out today, is it not? Yes, oh, could you excuse me just a moment, I need to go close up something. Yes, it'll be just a moment, and Nadine will return with your beverage in just a moment. Have a seat. Terribly sorry for the noise, just ignore that. So what brings you to my humble home? What's that? Interesting. So you know as well? Yes, I suppose this is quite the problem. Sorry, what was the place called again? Ah, Crossroads. Alright. Hows about I give you a letter to take to the Hunters of Crossroads, just letting them know that I have been informed and that their back-up will soon arrive. Could I offer you in a cookie? No? You remind me quite a bit of my son, you know. If he were still here, he'd be about your age. Oh, no need to apologize, what's done is in the past. There's not much I can do to fix or change anything. Well, I hate to be rude, and I thank you for stopping by, but I really must be getting back to work. Here is the letter I promised you, and good luck on your travels.
