Posted this on another forum. Thought it wouldn't be a bad idea to post it here as well.
List your favorite authors, and if you wish, your favorite books by those authors.
James Patterson I really enjoy two of his original series, one called Maximum Ride and the other about a character named Alex Cross.
Ted Dekker At first, his style was a little difficult to get used to, but I really ended up enjoying his work. My favorite book by him, that I've read, is Skin.
Robert Jordan What other than the Wheel of Time series? Now, I'm only on Book 5, but I'll get to the end eventually. XD

Cassandra Clare She is the author of the series of Mortal Instruments. My favorite book of the series is City of Fallen Angels. The series of Mortal Instruments is about mythical creatures living during the modern world of New York. (Vampires, Shadowhunters, Werewolves, Faeries and Mundanes(mortal humans)) There are 4 books out right now. Also a movie is coming out soon, called City of Bones. Cassandra also wrote up another series called the Infernal Devices. There is one book out in the series called Clockwork Angel.
Becca Fitzpatrick She is the author that does Hush, Hush and Crescendo. The series has to do with a woman who falls in love with a fallen angel. There are 2 books out, but the third is coming out soon.
Thomas E. Sniegoski This male author wrote up the series called "The Fallen" which is about a teenager who is half angel and half human. It is also about his adventures with angels and battles with Powers(angels that hunt the half breed). There are 3 books out right now.

I'm going to have to check out that 'Hush' book. It sounds like something I could enjoy if it's written well. Another favorite author? Probably Walter Farley, if only because I love The Black Stallion.

Peter .V Brett I have many 'favourite' authors but this guy is the most under appreciated of them all. He's currently writing a series called the Demon Cycle, it's about demons that come out at night in a post-apocalyptic (very post-apocalyptic our modern time is only briefly mentioned once and a while) world and people have to either hide or die. In Canada at least it seems that I'm the only one that knows him.
And I'm such a critic; his work is actually good. 'Damn awesome' even. Find him and read him now.
